Mentoring & Partnership for Youth Development (MPYD)
MPYD-
Mentoring and Partnership for Youth Development is a non-profit
organization whose mission is to provide support and mentorship to
young males at John Muir High school by encouraging their academic
achievement and social skills development, enhancing family relations,
and developing future education and employment resource referrals. Our
program seeks to develop strong relationships with the young men in our
program and to interact with them and their mentors consistently in a
variety of activities and events. MPYD’s Motto is “Building Real Men” and our program supports this motto by: (these should be bulleted) Providing
students tutoring services in Mathematics, English, Science and Social
studies to ensure they successfully complete their courses.
Providing
students support services to ensure they pass their California High
School Exit Exam, graduate and attain their academic goals.
Working
collaboratively with principals, deans, teachers, coaches, and other
school personnel to help students improve their behavior, exhibit
respect and dignity and project a positive image for themselves and
John Muir High School.
Matching students with adult male mentors to: Guide students in the development of their academic and personal objectives. Help students develop greater self-discipline and responsibility for their decisions and actions. Encourage students develop greater self-respect, respect for others and their community.
